Playing Favorites: Evan is a cool, moody blue layered with smoky gray, soft denim, and subtle undertones. The tonal movement gives it beautiful depth from skein to skein—sometimes brighter and bluer, sometimes darker and more shadowed—like a changing evening sky.

Evan is an Air Force veteran who now works for the FAA in the southern part of the country. When he’s off duty, you’ll usually find him hanging out with his two best pals: Aenea, a Great Pyrenees, and Merin, a husky mix. He’s also a fan of eating out, good music, computer games, and generally enjoying his downtime when he gets it.

For his Playing Favorites color, Evan went straight for blue—and this one feels especially right. It’s dependable and easygoing, but there’s enough variation running through it to keep things interesting.

Like all the colors in our Playing Favorites Dye-to-Order Collection, Evan was created from a color genuinely loved by someone in our family. Choose your favorite yarn base and the quantity you need, and we’ll dye it especially for you. Please allow 7–10 days for your yarn to be dyed and ready to ship.

Perfect for: sweaters, cardigans, hats, scarves, socks, cables, textured stitches, and colorwork. It would pair beautifully with charcoal, cream, warm gold, rust, pale gray, or a contrasting pop of green.

Each skein is hand-dyed in Vermont, so subtle variations between skeins are part of what makes your yarn uniquely yours. For larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins for the most beautifully blended result.
