⛈️Tranquil. Vivid. Mesmerizing.
Stormy Garden View captures the quiet moment of watching a Vermont garden through rain-streaked glass, where colors blur and soften beneath a steady summer storm. Hints of floral tones mingle with muted greens and shadowy grays, like blossoms and leaves swaying just beyond the window.
This variegated yarn creates a gentle, impressionistic effect, perfect for projects that embrace subtle shifts and moody elegance. Ideal for shawls, sweaters, and accessories, it brings a sense of calm introspection and natural beauty to every stitch.
Whether you’re inspired by rainy afternoons, cozy interiors, or gardens in motion, Stormy Garden View adds a soft, contemplative charm rooted in Vermont’s ever-changing skies.

🌳 Lush. Earthy. Sturdy. — Tree Buds is what happens when Vermont spring wakes up, stretches, and decides to become yarn. Swirled with mossy greens and rich bark browns, this variegated beauty looks like it was dyed somewhere between a maple grove and a very opinionated compost pile (in the best way).
Each skein captures that fleeting moment when trees start side-eyeing winter and thinking about leaves again. It’s cozy, it’s fresh, and it pairs perfectly with the sound of distant birds and someone insisting it’s “spring has sprung.” Whether you’re knitting socks, shawls, or something you’ll dramatically wear while sipping coffee on a porch, Tree Buds brings full Vermont energy—flannel optional, charm included.
This yarn is basically a seasonal mood in fiber form. Warning: may cause sudden urges to hug trees or casually mention that you “know a great sugarhouse.”

💜Soft. Dreamy. Peaceful.
Wild Lupine is inspired by the sweeping fields of blooming lupine that line Vermont’s country roads in early summer. Layers of gentle lavender, periwinkle, and deeper violet tones flow together like wildflowers dancing in a warm breeze under open skies.
This variegated yarn captures the quiet beauty of rural landscapes and long, golden evenings, bringing a sense of calm and natural elegance to your projects. The subtle shifts in color create a watercolor effect, perfect for shawls, garments, and accessories that feel both timeless and effortlessly graceful.
Whether you’re reminiscing about Vermont summers or simply drawn to soft floral hues, Wild Lupine adds a peaceful, nature-inspired touch to every stitch

👕 Bright, groovy, sun-splashed — Tie Dye T-shirts is like a Vermont summer collided with your favorite camp shirt from 1998 and decided to live its best life as yarn. Electric blues, grassy greens, and pops of sunny yellow swirl together like Lake Champlain on a perfect day—if Lake Champlain had a playlist and questionable fashion choices.
This colorway practically smells like sunscreen, bonfires, and that one friend who definitely brought a guitar but only knows two chords. It’s cheerful, a little chaotic, and impossible not to love—just like a roadside stand that somehow sells both heirloom tomatoes and handmade candles.
Perfect for adding a splash of retro joy to your knitting, Tie Dye T-shirts works up into pieces that say, “Yes, I’m outdoorsy, but I also appreciate a good nap in a hammock.” Expect compliments, nostalgia, and at least one person asking if you made it at summer camp (you can lie).

What our customers are saying:
We put color in yarn
The Wooly Caterpillar is a small, family run yarn business that launched in December 2025. All our yarns are dyed by Vicky, our Founder & Chief Creative Officer. Brian, Vicky’s husband, is our go-to person for just about everything else. We have also enlisted Vicky’s mom, Marion - (she puts all those labels on each and every skein!), Abbie helps with social media and marketing, and Evan helps out with tech questions when they come up.
The Wooly Caterpillar is the exclusive home of Fox & Owl Dye Lab - our own private label yarns.
Working with fiber is good for the soul - it grounds us and provides an avenue for meditative healing.
