Ed is a deep, saturated navy with a subtle purple undertone that shows itself as the light moves across the yarn. At first glance it reads as classic navy, but look a little closer and there’s something more going on — a dusky violet depth that keeps the color rich, interesting, and just a little mysterious.

This shade was chosen by Ed, one of the artists in our extended Wooly Caterpillar family. Ed is married to Jenny — Brian’s daughter — and is the maker behind The Eclectic Shed – E. Lemery Studio, where he transforms wood into handcrafted earrings, jewelry, and other one-of-a-kind pieces. We love having another maker in the family, especially one who understands the appeal of taking a beautiful raw material and turning it into something entirely new.

Like all the colors in our Playing Favorites Dye-to-Order Collection, Ed began with a simple question: What color do you love? The answers are becoming a wonderfully personal palette, one favorite person at a time.
