Pattern Suggestions & Doings in the Dye Lab

Hey kids!

Can you believe we have now been in business for just over a month! To some of the yarn giants out there, one month might be something hardly worth celebrating – to us, it is one of the small milestones that mark our journey of creating this business from scratch.

Some of you have been asking us for pattern suggestions to use with our beautiful yarns, and we are ever so happy to oblige! For this round of suggestions we have confined our search on Ravelry.com to sock/fingering and worsted weight yarn (the two weights we currently sell). Our suggestions are available as a Ravelry Bundle by going to https://ravel.me/TheVTCaterpilllar/bp2ps

Sock or Fingering weight yarn can be used for so many different items – socks being the go-to for most knitters. But socks aren’t the only thing you can make with this versatile yarn! Our pattern bundle includes socks, fingerless gloves, and a cowl. We have listed both crochet and knit patterns for you to explore.

Worsted weight yarn is a wonderful medium weight yarn that works up easily into all sorts of patterns, whether you are knitting or crocheting. Worsted weight is a medium weight yarn and is widely used in the US for anything from hats to blankets, mittens to amigurumi. Our bundle includes hats, amigurumi, and the quintessential Emotional Support Chicken (R) by Annette Corsino.

This month also has us exploring new yarn bases and new colors. Are their colors or bases/weights that you would like to see us using? Would anyone be interested in non-superwash yarns? What about non-wool yarns - cotton or bamboo? We would love your feedback! Send us a note on the contact page to let us know your thoughts!

Happy crafting everyone! We’ll see you next month for our next blog installment.
